A full green for todays start of the Mixed Pairs, 2 out of 3 wins to qualify for post section to be played on Sunday.A 9.00am start and it was like playing in the middle of winter, really cold after such good weather we have been having recently. By mid afternoon, it was back playing in summer for those still still needing one more win to qualify.
There were no easy games ahead for all teams and 21 ends gave players plenty of time to get into their rhythm.
Only three games were needed in Round 3 for any more to qualify; Noel McCutcheon and Dianne Short after losing their 2nd game on the last end, played Keith and Liz Galloway, winning the game 25-5. Rex and Alice who lost a tough game in the first round, won their 2nd and needed to beat Murray Griffin and Margaret Lowndes and this they did, 21-13. The third game saw Elaine Thorn and Martin Howse needing a win and this they did against Dennis Gee and Doris Thorn, 25-21.
So the draw for Sunday is: 9.00am – E Thorn v’s R Spicer with the other teams having a bye and will start their games at 11.00am.
B Cooper v I Wenham, F Adams v S Ball, O Feaunati v K Hayward, N McCutcheon v the winner of the 9.00am game.
Should be an interesting day.
