A good start today from our Women’s Fours team which, after having a first round bye, won their 2nd round game against RSA.
I’ve heard that skip Susan Boxall played a vital last bowl on one end when, prior to delivering her last bowl, the team had only one bowl left on the head. I think that they were 4 down when her last bowl went on its way, arriving to move apart a group of RSA bowls and move through to take the shot. A great relief to all the team no doubt!
The teams entered the last end with the score tied and ended with a win to Susan, Margaret Mackay, Alice Spicer and Liz Galloway. A very good effort and we wish them all the best for tomorrows rounds.
Our Men’s team, Neville Turnbull, Shoota BAllinger, Steve Felgitscher and Selwyn Riwaka, also had a bye but lost their 2nd round game against Waitarere Beach.
