It was a good idea from Neville Turnbull to get Nan Keating down to the club so that we could acknowledge her 90th birthday.

We welcomed her and sang the appropriate song and shared her company at afternoon tea. Neville told those present of her achievements while she was bowling in the Waikato area, and how many of us had enjoyed playing bowls with her once she moved to Levin. Though not now a member, Nan still is active at Indoor Bowls.
I’m sure she enjoyed the opportunity to come to the club this afternoon and reminisce. Happy Birthday Nan.
It was Tuesday roll-up afternoon on our green, and as well, there was a team playing at RSA and another at Waikanae.
All seemed to be having good games on our green and it was pointed out to me that the scores on each of the three boards prior to finishing their games, was the same, hence the photo.
And just to finish off, the next photo shows how important it is to note what is in the background before one takes a photo. I assure you that Ken does not have a new hairstyle just for roll-ups. Sorry about that Ken, but at least I realised the mistake I had made and took another one.
