Two Consecutive Kisses

It was the last end, the score was very close, when up stepped Colin. He must have known it was time for him to shine and that is exactly what he did. A long end but no problem getting up to the head (this time) and he drew right to the Jack, not just once but twice. He really earned a round of support.

And yes, we won that game.

This was all part of yesterday afternoon’s Anniversary Day Mini Gala. Only twelve players turned up; maybe people were still away on holiday or perhaps it was that people thought the greens would be closed after two days of rain. When we arrived, the cotula green still had large puddles on it but the Dales green was clear and ready to go.

Three games of pairs were played, just like a roll-up, but the results were kept and at the end, the winners were:

1st with 3 wins – Stafford and Murray. Coming in 2nd were the two Margarets  – Griffin and MacKay, with 2 wins.

Murray had been playing with Bill Clelland in the Centre’s Junior 2x4x2 Tournament over the weekend.  The weather had not been too good but games had been played and our two club members got into the post section but then lost their next game by one point. Still a good effort.

The puddle on the cotula green supports one of our sponsors.
