So what do you understand is meant by the word ‘Reaction’?? A look in my dictionary says “A response to a stimulus or former action”.
This afternoon gave us a chance to see how people reacted to a stimulus, in this case, the water spraying out from the sprinklers around the cotula green.
Not too big a problem one would think, just get moving to a spot where the water was not reaching, and this is how most if not all but one reacted.
The quickest reaction came from Stafford who has a lot to do with the maintaining the workings of the club and he obviously knew that for one reason or another, the power was on to activate the system. Off he sprinted to the office where the switch is housed to operate the watering system.
BUT, what caught his eye on the way, was to see a certain lady sitting by one of the sprinklers, hands over her ears, making no effort to move to a dry area. Why was this one wondered, certainly Stafford couldn’t believe his eyes, and when I saw him shortly after, tears were still evident, not because of a disaster but from disbelief as to why someone hadn’t reacted to the situation positively.
I bet when he got home, he discussed with his wife Marion, why she reacted as she did.
