It was Mixed Pairs post-section games played today at the club and after the first round was completed, Fred and Coral had won their game against Jack Willis and Hildi Ewart, Susan Boxall and Ian Wenham won against Margaret MacKay and Rob Cotter and Dave and Ra Walker won against Shoota and Ann Malone.
The next round saw Dave Scrivener and May KauKau play Fred and Coral and Susan and Ian play the Walkers. Both games ended early when the eventual winners who were playing so well, made it obvious that there was no chance for their opponents catching up. In Susan and my game, the Walkers played outstanding bowls and though it was disappointing for us not to do better, it was a real education seeing players showing such skills.
Fred and Coral now faced the Walkers and the final score 26-12 with two ends to go, showed that Dave and Ra continued with their fine form and in so doing, they took out this years Mixed Pairs Championship.
