It is with great regret that I have to tell you of the passing of Mollie Wilson, an Honorary Member of our club and we offer our condolences to Fenton and the boys.
Mollie joined the Levin West Bowling Club which was part of our Levin Bowling Club, joining up with husband Fenton who became a member the year before.
As well as an enthusiastic bowler, Mollie became the Secretary of Levin West in 1993 and kept the position through to 1996. Her ability was quickly noted and in 1994 she also became President of the section until 1996.
Once Levin West became amalgamated with Levin Bowling Club, she continued to be an active player until her health required her to become a Social Member.
More recently, in recognition of their participation, both on and off the greens, Mollie and Fenton were made Honorary Members of the Club.
It will always be a pleasure for me to tell future winners of the the Wilson Trophy, the women’s Aussie Pairs competition, where the name came from, a lasting memory of the family.
The club flag is flying at half-mast in farewell to Mollie.
