Rotary at Levin RSA

Because of another commitment, I was unable to play Rotary at the Levin RSA this afternoon but I did manage a short time there to see our two teams playing on the new green.

It looked very neat and fresh with the green surface, and as well, the club had spruced up all around with paint, making the whole area look neat and tidy.

I presume because it is still a new playing surface, it looked as though a lot of players were having some difficulty getting the right weight to get their bowls to the head. This happened also at our club when our new artificial green was put down, but after a time, it now runs well. Presumably, this will happen on the RSA green.

I have heard that our two teams only scored one win, but I have no results from the games played at the Levin club.

I did see some of their first round games and in both, our teams were not doing well.  Let’s hope things improved during the afternoon!
