Another sunny day but not a lot of members taking advantage of that down at the green this afternoon.
While we were being sorted for the roll up I wandered over to the cotula green and noted behind the water tank, TJ’s vege garden, thriving from the sun, watering and lots of cotula clippings.
Back on the green, getting it ready for play was Stafford on the roller, taking it more slowly, just as he had been advised to do by the Green Consultant, Michael Hearsey.
This obviously suited Stafford as he and his team played exceptionally well. Leading off was Vern and he soon got the line and weight correct. Not to be out played was Jack and he added more to our miseries, and Stafford skipping, did what was required with equal skill. A really top team performance.
My team tried hard, but it was just one of those days when nothing seemed to go right.
The last end was typical. I managed to draw the shot but up came Stafford’s last bowl, it wicked in and inmoved the Kitty, just enough for his bowl and another from his team to score Two.
Believe me, it was just one of those days.
But we had to admit they played really well. Perhaps that was their Christmas present for this year.
The Winners
Jack, Stafford and Vern posed by their two shots
And for the record, mine is the next closest bowl -worthy of a mention perhaps!
A Merry Christmas to you all
