It was up early today and off to Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Club for the finals of this years Interclub.Our club had done well to have teams in the Men’s Super 7’s, the Reserve 7’s and our women had a team in the Women’s Reserve 7’s.
We arrived and received the draw for the play and stared off with trial ends. Three greens were being used, Green 1 for the 4’s, Green 2 for Singles and Green 3 for Pairs. In each round, our Singles, Pairs and Fours played different clubs and it wasn’t until the last round that we had an ideas who was in with a chance of winning the trophy.
The day started with quite a gusty wind and though quite strong, it did not cause such a great problem; I thought it would play a strong part in deciding what hand to play, but in fact this was not so.
The greens played well and so it was up to the individuals on how well they played… and at times, what luck they had.

4½ out of 9 games.
Men’s Reserve 7’s
Singles: W, L, D, Pairs: L, L, W Fours: W, W, L
4 wins and a draw out of 9 games.
Women’s Reserve 7’s
Singles: W, W, W Pairs: L, L, W Fours: L, W, L
5 wins out of 9 games
It was quite a good effort from our players but not enough to take out the trophy. I will publish the results once they are put out by the Centre.
