We had a good turnout yesterday for our progressive mini gala. We usually play triples but for one reason or another, we ended up playing fours. It is quite a fun afternoon and the cards we use to tell players what rink they will be on and with whom they will be playing does cause some odd team combination. I don’t mean the players are odd) As an example, we played three games of six ends and a player I had in game one, was in the next two games, but was playing against me in teams skipped by different players. Still it was an interesting way to spend the afternoon.
Our Jan and Ken, playing in the KCBC Junior 2x4x2 Pairs over the weekend, didn’t manage to go any further in the post section but congratulations to Gary Wylie and Selwyn Riwaka from Central Levin for winning the tournament. (I think they were runners-up last year.)
Gary is an Associate Member of our club, and we see a lot of him in our roll ups where he has shown he is a very skilful player. Selwyn also is know to us; he started bowling in our Business House evenings, became a member, but now plays at Central. He also quickly showed skill in the game.
Congratulations, once again.
