Today’s Weather

It was about a quarter to one when I noticed the sun was out shining. A chance to bowl after all, something that wasn’t on the cards in the morning with rain off and on.

i arrived at the green to find others also ready to play – the draw was made and we got under way.

As it turned out, my team had what I call a hundred year game – after playing for that length of time, nothing would have improved.   No matter what we played, it seemed that nothing would work to our advantage and perhaps it was just as well that the sky changed and convinced us to get inside!

This was the look out to the west over the cotula green, still with puddles on it after earlier rain. We could see the build up of very dark clouds and then even felt rain drops starting.

We quickly packed up and went inside but soon noticed that the cloud formation was moving eastward taking the weather to perhaps Foxton, Shannon and Palmerston North. Our weather improved but it was, we decided, more comfortable inside the clubrooms.  A quiet drink and we soon forgot how we had played earlier.

Quite a strange afternoon in more ways than one.
