We only managed a few ends at this afternoon’s roll-up. The Tararuas were covered with dark cloud and to the west, we could see cloud building up.
In our game with the score at four all, we saw that Moutere Hill was disappearing as the rain headed our way, so we quickly called the game finished, got our bowls back into the clubrooms, just in time to miss the fall of heavy rain.
As can be seen in the above photo, we were well wrapped up, and while waiting, kept an eye on what was happening to the artificial green where we had been playing.
The photo below shows how quickly puddles formed on the cotula green, and so for most players, it was time to call off all the games and fill in the rest of the afternoon as one decided.
Let’s hope it is fine on Saturday for the Men’s Handicap Singles.
