Yesterday was supposed to be another bright early summer’s day for bowls but instead, it was mostly gray instead. Disappointing that only 6 rinks were needed and that no teams from any other club thought it worthwhile joining us. Certainly they are missing playing on our green which is running so well.
John Adams skipped the winning team with Joan Hayward and Omeka giving him support to win all four games, 22 winning ends recorded and 60 points won.
John sending his bowl down the green at pace. Hope his foot and hand were attached
In 2nd place was Ken Hayward’s team which included Bronwyn McMahon and Lana Mahupuku. I noted one game from this team where they were trailing 11-0 but they came back and won that game. Overall they had 3 wins and a draw from 25 ends and a total of 57 winning points.
The Wnek’s, Joe and Lodzia, had Maree Anstis (she played great lead bowls against my team). They also had three wins and a draw. They won 19 ends and a total of 42 points. There was some discussion today on how you determine who was the better when two teams both have three wins and a draw. The Match Committee presumably have a rule and that should be made clear to all players.
Today the sun was back out again and a nice afternoon was there for our Thursday Roll-up. A good muster and by the smiles and sounds, a lot of fun.
Colin got himself a toucher and hoped that I was able to photograph it…this I was able to do, so the photos shown below are for Colin especially:
Colin delivers his bowl watched by the opponent lead, Vern
and the result, Colin has the shot.
Observing our game, Fred, and also resting up after his stay in Hospital. Not sure whether he has his eyes open but he is entitled to recover in the shade
Good to see you back.
