Over the weekend our bowlers who entered the Centre Pairs did well by qualifying for post section play.
Our ladies playing their games at the Waikanae Club, Dianne and Hazel went down to Janet Monteith from Central in their first game. Margaret MacKay and Joan Hayward won their first round game but went down to a Waikanae Beach team who have now reached the semi-final.
The Men’s Post-section play was played at Central Levin. The wind was quite gusty there and must have made play quite difficult.
Gary Wylie and Jim Bagnall got a bye in the first round and had a good win against a Paraparaumu team in their next game. Their next opponent, Ian Mahoney’s combination from Central, proved too strong in their next game.
Neville Turnbull and Barry Cross had a good win in their first game but lost their next game by one point on the last end.
The sun is out this morning for the two rounds to be played today to find the winners – worth a look.
