Today saw the Women’s Singles played on our cotula green. Always interesting games in action and for us Markers, time to watch very good play. The two photos show how close things could get. The final end in play and could have resulted in a win for either bowler –
Diana had reached twenty but Joan caught up with three to make the final end level – 20-20. Pressure was really on but with one bowl left, Diana had to run at the head.

Into the target went her bowl … it looked a good shot…but though things moved back, the result was not what she wanted. Joan still held the necessary winning shot and the game was over. A really good game from both players.
The day started at 9.00am and all eight rinks were used. The green had been rolled twice by Murray and it was playing really well.
Two out of three wins were needed and at the end of the day’s play, eight players were ready for tomorrow’s Post section play.
