An early start on Sunday to get Men’s Singles started so that four rounds of Singles would be completed.
The weather was good and the green was running well for all players.
Barry Cross won his game against Murray Griffin and Omeka did likewise against John Adams.
Quarter finals next – Wins for Gary Wylie, Neville Turnbull, Keith Galloway and Omeka, and pressure was on for all.
After lunch Gary put Neville out and the game between Keith and Omeka showed that a win was theirs to take, but Keith got through to take on Gary in the Fiinal.
What a game that turned out to be.

After eight ends, Gary was leading by 12-5 but the next three ends brought Keith up to 11.
Keith
So close to the Jack were the bowls played by both players so many times, so often just one point being taken by one bowl from the other player.
Little by little, Gary’s lead moved on and by the 18th end he was leading 20-12. A comeback was underway on the next three ends by Keith, but one final bowl took Garry to the win,the game 21 to 17.
The draw play from both players was outstanding most of the game, upshots rarely needed. A Jack put in the ditch for a point but the opponent drawing to the ditch edge. Great stuff.
Congratulations to both players.
Runner-Up Keith Galloway Champion Gary Wylie
Liz Galloway
And our ladies, Alice Spicer and Liz Galloway likewise had such a close match on their rink,. Thiry-one ends needed to find the winner.
Rarely were the two far apart, 4 all, 9 all, Liz slowly gaining points to 14 but then Alice up to 13. So it went on, pressure all the time. Then Alice was back and the score for the first time putting her in the lead 18-17.
Real pressure now, twenty all.
Either way for the win …but two shots were delivered by Liz, the score 22-20 and the the Championship had been won.
Congratulations to both players, another great game.
