And so today’s day‘s play ended and the draw has been made for tomorrow’s post-section games.. Quite a number were watching the last game to see if another could be added to the qualifiers – the two players concerned were Shoota and Neville.
All others had finished their games but the close match between the two players had eyes well on play. Neville had already qualified but Shoota had to win this game to be a further qualifier.
Came the final end, the score still very close, with Neville holding the winning shot. Two final bowls, and twice Shoota attempted to score but twice missed, so narrowly, to get the shots ….. and the game was over.
The day’s games were played on the cotula and Dale greens and two out of three wins were necessary from each player going into tomorrow’s post-section play.
The draw is:
8.30am- B Cross v M Griffin and Omeka v J Adams.
The next round will see R Cotter v G Wylie, N Turnbull v P Gardner
K Galloway v R Falconer, and the two winners from the early round.
The weather last weekend was poor and tomorrow should see last weeks women players complete their competition. Should be an interesting day.
