Played over the weekend at many clubs throughout the Centre were lots of activities for Men and Women teams
Interclub was the challenge over the two weekend days and fine weather certainly seemed to help many of the players. Results can be seen on our Website and they show how our teams performed. Can be seen in Interclub and Team selections areas of the club’s Internet http://www.levin.bowls.org.nz/
Came Monday and our Takaro Nines teams did very well in Palmerston North winning all their games. (View results also on the web.)
Today also was a challenge; firstly the weather with rain falling early in the afternoon but some members had a short roll-up late in the day.
The final challenge was the Corner to Corner event and again the challenge was there for the participants. The photos show how the challenge was met:
The first effort to get to the opposite corner got rid of me at least, nowhere near enough power. Alan got close and in the photo he is showing good he was, getting closer to the corner than any other bowl.
This photo shows only three bowls able to get close to the target; the red bowl wins and it just happens to be Alan’s again.
So the prize goes to Alan with Omeka coming in second place. Congratulations to these two!
(Note that ants have not really come into the picture. Thanks Grant’s for your sponsorship.
