We now are into the last of our “summer bowls”and though the start of April, we really weren’t fooled by the misty morning weather, we all quickly got into action at the Central Levin’s monthly bowls. The three of us who have played together in this monthly competition for some time, didn’t do very well and decided an early finish in our last game was a good idea; our opponents felt likewise. Our leaving early has meant that we do not know how our two other club teams fared but certainly one of them had had three wins when they entered their last game. Hope they did well.
We look forward to hearing from our selected players, the results of tomorrow’s North v’s South competition being played at Waikanae.
The Mixed Pairs competition was played over the last weekend and the final will be played when a date has been organised. Look forward to being able to watch the match
Members will be sorry to hear that our recent club member and friend, Vern Murphy, has passed away.
Vern played bowls with us over recent years and had gone back to playing croquet this season.
He was always a keen sports player and we will truly miss him.
