It was a little hard to call it summer today but play did get underway with some 22 pairs entered to play in the 2x4x2 gala.
The match committee did a draw to find the teams that would play on either the astro or cotula green but it then was decided that teams would play2 games in the morning on one or the other green and then change over to the other green in the afternoon. This was carried out; some players happy with that but others wished that they would play all their game on only the one green.
Another decision that had some players undecided was whether games should be played to a set number of ends or whether games are finished when either the number of ends played is completed or a set time is reached and the alarm bell rings. The coming AGM could well be a time for these points to be discussed.

2nd – Trevor Turnbull and Jim Bagnall – 3 wins, 24 ends, 49 points
3rd – Paul Gardner and Omeka Feaunati – 3 win, 24 ends, 45 points
4th – Les and Mary Judd – 3 wins, 21 ends, 33 points.
