Wild weather on Saturday for the playing of the Metlifecare 2014 Grassroots Triples at the Waikanae Bowling Club.
At the end of the day’s play, eight teams had qualified, for post-section on Sunday including two from our club, Alice and Rex Spicer and Omeka and also Fred Adams, Paul Gardner and Julie Stichbury.
Both our teams had done well but were eliminated at the end of their first game on the second day.
Though Jim Bagnall, Grahame and Bella Law had not qualified, they played in the Consolation Gala on the Sunday and our Levin team, took out the first prize.
Our teams are to be congratulated on their efforts in the competition, played in difficult conditions.
In Levin, it was a cold and windy day on Sunday for the playing of the 2x4x2 Gala at our club but 12 teams had a good day with plenty of laughter (and skill as well).
Pleasing to have teams from Himitangi, Foxton Beach and Waikanae Beach joining us on the day.

2nd L.Auckram/B.Hamid 3½ wins, 21 ends, 45 points.
3rd J. Wnek/L.Wnek 3½ wins, 19 ends, 36 points.
