The women’s final was hard fought with Heather Stempa getting two shots on the last end to force a tie and an extra end. Heather’s lead Jenny Watt put her first bowl close and it remained there after the final bowls was bowled.
The men’s final wasn’t close in the end. Keith Galloway’s team had their opposition under pressure for most of the match. Neville Turnbull couldn’t save his team like he did in the mornings semi final. However the score wasn’t a true indication of the game as on the 13th end Neville drove off all his team’s bowls and ended up going down 7 points. The final two ends were not played.
