At the end of yesterday’s play, five pairs had qualified and after the draw, Hazel and Coral were down to play Dianne Short (s) and Susan Boxall in the first round. A close finish saw Hazel and Coral go through the next round, after winning this game 22-20.
Lodzia Wnek (s) and Grace Virtue faced Ann Malone(s) and Christine Ryan in the semi final and after another close game, Ann and Christine won 18-14. The other semi final between Hazel and Coral and Margaret MacKay(s) and Alice Spicer saw Margaret the winner 20-13.
The final started mid afternoon, and once again the spectators saw another close game, the win finally going to Ann Malone and Christine Ryan,22-19.

In the KCBC Men’s Singles, both Grant Pratt and Brian Paquin got through to the last sixteen after winning their the first round games in Post Section play but went out in the next round. A commendable effort from these players.
