Today’s Rotary round was played at RSA and Levin.
Our 2 teams at the RSA had Ups and Downs: Fred Adams team won both their games but Joe Wnek’s team lost both of theirs. From what I heard later, it appears that some clubs’ teams don’t read the rules that are clearly stated on the back of the cards issued before play, especially the one that says teams are allowed only 1 kill (the end to be replayed) and that 2 points are given away after a second kill. Not following this rule might have made a difference to the result of one of our team’s games.
At our home club, Joe Johnson’ s team won both their closely fought games but my team had only one win. Our first game was against a Central team which performed very well and deserved their win.
The final result for the day was five wins.
Our Rotary selector, Joe Johnson, had a smile on his face, even before playing and winning both his matches.
