While the conditions were cold the day was very successful with 60 players working hard to qualify for tomorrow’s sudden death quarter finals. Played in 5 section with the five winners and the next best three teams making for the eight teams that will be in post section.
Section 1: 1st Daryll Johnson, Glynn Davies, Janet Olliver with three wins and also qualifying with 2 wins Noel McCutcheon, Graham Williams, Donna Gripp.
Section 2: Bob Whitelaw, Mary Judd, Ron Evans had three good wins. The next best in this section was Kumara Selby, Les Galloway, Jan Dawson but with only the 1 win so was never in the running for the three best teams.
Section 3: Run away wins for Trevor Turnbull, Peter Brown, Valda Anderson, leaving the second place Shoota Ballinger, Graeme Mathie, Wendy Whitelaw with two wins but not enough differential to qualify.
Section 4: Eddie Irving, Ralda Adams, Jae Johnson won this section with three wins and John Adams, Rex Spicer, Linda Moy with two wins done enough to qualify in 8th place.
Section 5: The close game between Brian Cooper, Liz Galloway, Dan Cross over Grahame Law, Irene Poletti, Barnaby Hamid was the different in who won this section. However Law’s team made it through with a very superior differential.
The live green was playing really well for this time of year and with all the rain we’ve had. The wind did make it a bit tricky but overall the standard was pleasing to see. Congratulations to all the qualifying teams and play well tomorrow.
