With only two teams entered, it was win two out of three games to be this years Junior Pairs Champion team.
The first game started well for Barnaby and Murray, leading 7 nil after the first four ends with Barnaby drawing well.
By the 12th end, things were still going well for that pair, leading 14 to 8 but Noel and Steve, though still behind were slowly narrowing the gap. The 19th end took Murray and Barnaby to 19 15 and with only two ends to go, the pressure was really on Noel and Steve. They responded with a 3 and then a 1 to draw the game on the 21st end at 19 all. An extra end was played and a 2 gave the win to Noel and Steve, quite a recovery.
A break for lunch and then it was back onto a different rink to play a second game; a win needed by Murray and Barnaby to give them the chance to play a third game to win the title. It was 6 all on the 6th end but from there on, Noel and Steve really took control of the game and at the end of the 18th end, with the score at 23 – 10, Murray and Barnaby conceded and congratulated their opponents, this seasons champions.
