Yesterday saw the club playing the next round of Interclub at various places and at various times depending on whether they were 3, 2 or 1.

Might seem strange but the numbers indicate how many rounds had to be played – our women’s team had three rounds to play at Paraparaumu Beach Club which meant an early morning start for the players.  Our Men’s reserve team had two rounds with the Singles and Pairs also at Paraparaumu but the Fours at home on our Levin Green.

Our Men’s Super 7’s team had the opportunity to have a sleep in before heading to Waikanae Beach Club to play just one round. I’ve no idea why this happens, but no doubt there was logical reason. Not to worry, all teams arrived at the right place and on time.

At the end of the day the club’s teams results overall were very good with our Women’s team finishing in 3rd place qualifying in the top 4 to play off in the final.

The men’s teams still have another round to play and we hope they will also get into their final four.

Our Men’s Super 7 played a round against Waitarere Beach and our Singles player, Dave Walker, had a very good game against Bill Moran, but went down by just one point. Both the Pairs and Fours won their game.

Our Reserve 7’s Pairs, Rex and Paul (s), also at Paraparaumu, had a draw and a win, while Stafford had a win and a loss. Our two Fours games at home were close games but we got the two points needed on the last end in the first game to win against Central Blue and we did well to beat Paraparaumu Red in the afternoon.

The day’s weather was quite a contrast to our recent sunshine, the morning being cloudy and quite cool, but the afternoon eventually saw the sun reappear to warm us up.

A good day overall for us all.
