Business House Bowls got started with 28 teams last night and after Brian had welcomed all the players, the games got going on both greens. Club members gave help to new ‘bowlers’, and past players got themselves loosened up for the start of the competition next week.
Interesting to see last years winning team lost both of their warm up games so I’ll be keeping an eye on them next week.
I had a chat with two couples who were out for a walk and had stopped to see what was going on at the club. I had a chat with them, explaining what was going on and they seemed very interested and thought they would come along next week and fill in if a team was short of a player. It was reminder to us all, especially those who can remember the concrete wall that closed off the club to the street, how useful it is that people can see the game in action with our open fence. It was more like a private area in the past.
Just a reminder that this coming Saturday sees the final games (three rounds) of Interclub to get this year’s winners. Games start at 8.30am at Paraparaumu Beach Bowling Club
