No Wind …. At Last

We had our last session this morning with the Year 10 pupils from Horowhenua College and it was certainly much calmer all round without the strong winds that we have had recently.
The pupils played 2 bowls pairs and the majority showed that they had improved their delivery and as well, learnt many of the basic skills needed for the game.
To finish the session, we gave them an accuracy test, individually getting their bowl between two markers. The gap was reduced for those who ‘skilfully’ got their bowl through the space each time until a winner was found.

A smooth delivery

He delivers his bowl…

…and watches its progress

A big smile sends off the bowl

Another smooth delivery

What do you think of that one??

Winner of the accuracy competition – female

The male winner, receives his congratulations.

We felt that the pupils had really enjoyed their time on the green playing our game.
Barry will be holding his Monday night evening sessions on the green from next week and it will be interesting to see if any of this class join in.
