Tuesday saw our Men’s Pennants teams played at the Paraparaumu Beach Club against the Waikanae Red teams and our men won their four games. Great result.
Our Division Three teams played at the Kapitit Club against their two Kapiti teams.
Our A team skipped by Neville, played quite well, that is until near the end of the game. A drive took out our bowl and we dropped 6 points!! Came the end of that match and we won the game but only by one point.
The Kapiti A team really played well in the afternoon and we were left well behind. At the end of the day, we had two wins and two losses.
Kapiti had their new carpet and though ti ran well, we found that we did struggle getting to grips with the run of the green. It seemed too often that we dropped short with our bowls. The Kapiti A team really played well on their new carpet.
Wednesday morning we had a College class learning the basic of playing bowls on our artificial green. Quite a time delivering their bowls to take green. It will be another session on Friday.
Came Wednesday and Rotary games at Shannon and Central Levin.
Our two teams at Shannon each had a win and a loss while at Central our two teams had three wins and a draw. One of our teams managed to win 20-0 as a result. I found our players drew very well on the Number One green and the bowls were running well.
