The final of the winter Mixed Fours was played today between Fred Adams (s), Rex Spicer, Coral Mills and Alice Spicer and Margaret MacKay(s), Ann Malone, Don Hutchins, and Vern Murphy.
I didn’t see the game but have heard that Margaret and her team played really well with special praise for Margaret herself. Fred’s team were only able to score on four of the twelve ends and on each of these, it was for only one point.
The final score shows how well Margaret’s players were performing – 16 – 4.
Well done to both teams for reaching the final and special congratulations to the final’s winner.
A good ‘brave’ turnout for this afternoon’s roll-up; the morning sun lured us to play but the cloud and cold air certainly were seen and felt in the afternoon. Still, it was fun to play and also pleasing to see members from other clubs making use of our green.
A reminder that tomorrow afternoon will see a coaching session from Sharon Sims starting at 12.30 pm.
