A class from Waiopehu College came to the club this morning to experience our game.
We have been given a list of the skills the college expects their students to cover in two main areas –
1 Delivery, covering Bias, Weight and Hand with each area listing specific skills they are expected to cover. eg.”usually always judges bias correctly when playing, Can use the forehand and backhand as required given the condition of the head with accuracy.
2 Tactics is the other area – eg Demonstrates an understanding of tactics given the condition of the head.
Today as their first try at the game, we covered the initial basics and after the surprise they got on how freely the jack and bowls ran on the artificial green, soon got into the game and seemed to enjoy the challenge.
I think they are looking forward to their next visit on Monday morning. Looking forward to another fine morning.
