Nineteen qualifiers were found in both sections today and it was pleasing to see that our two Women’s teams and one Men’s Pair got through.
The Women’s Sections were played in Levin today at Central and Levin clubs and the men played at Paraparaumu and Raumati greens.
Fred Adams and Omeka don’t have to rush tomorrow as they have got a bye in the Men’s post-section and Dianne Short and Hazel Rose also have drawn a bye in the Women’s. Ra Walker and Alice Spicer will be up earlier, starting in the first round.
I saw some of both our women’s games this afternoon and was impressed with their play. I believe that Alice and Ra lost their first game, won their 2nd (a close finish) and had to play their 3rd game and this was when I saw them playing well on our cotula green.
At Central, I saw Hazel and Dianne playing near the end of their second game (they had won their first game) and they also were playing really well, winning their second game.
We hope that the wind will have given up after its efforts to be a nuisance today and we wish out three teams all the best.
