Sunday was Day 1 of the New Year and some of us turned up at the green for the Progressive Mini Gala that was shown in the club handbook.
It took quite a time to get us organized, mainly because one further player was needed so that an even draw could be made. Hildi responded to a phone call, the draw was made and the first round got underway.
We soon saw the cloud build up to the west and it was obvious what was coming.
The game wasn’t completed, we got inside before getting too wet and the gala was called off. Not the best start for the New Year.
Today the sun was shining and we got a mixed draw sorted out and we all had a fun afternoon on the cotula green. We quickly noted that the green had not been cut or rolled and was quite heavy, but we equally realized it was the same for all players and a test of individual’s skills.
So we have got the year underway, Rotary is to be played tomorrow on our green and at RSA, so we have to quickly get over our Christmas break and get back to our game.
The games have finished, now time to relax.
