2 Bowls, 2 ends – Pairs and Singles

A lovely morning to start the 2 bowls, 2 ends Gala this morning as can be seen in the photo.

The draw had been made and the ‘games’ got started; play two ends, record the result and start on the next – with fifteen game to be played in all.

Little time in each game for mistakes; if down two after the first end you had a job in front of you. Get two yourself on the next (last) end, an extra one would be played to find the winner.

Came the afternoon and the sun decided it was time to get behind the clouds and even some light rain decided to fall. Not enough to stop the 2 bowls 2 ends Singles getting started.

Diana and Jan, now dressed for the afternoon conditions.

All the players were drawn into two sets; marking games in the other set from theirs worked well in the first two rounds but as it was a sudden death competition, there were soon many available to mark.

At last their was only one player left from each set and the final got underway.

This was between Neville Turnbull and Shoota.

Shoota delivers ………

Neville delivers …….

What’s happened???

Room for improvement, perhaps!!!

The game completed, inside for a snack made by Margaret Lowndes and then time for presentations.
