Friday Gala was sponsored by Mitchpine, an annual event to celebrate St Patrick. Once this was a time when many members dressed in some form of costume to celebrate the occasion but not many now; a green shirt seems adequate.
A pity also that the gala is not now supported by teams from other clubs for one reason or another and there was only just enough ( 12 teams) to make the day worth playing.
We who did play enjoyed the fine weather and the very good green which played so well.
The four games, each of 10 ends saw the winning teams as follows:
1st D Scrivener, M KauKau, R Dickson – 4 wins and 21 ends
2nd F Adams, B Selley, O Feaunati – 3 wins and 27 ends
3rd B McMahon, A Sciascia , K Smyth – 3 wins and 25 ends.
