It seems to have suddenly come to a close, another successful Summer Season at our club.
On Saturday there was a very good turnout of members who arrived in the afternoon to enjoy a few ends on the astro green before all met inside to officially welcome our visitors and members.
President Hazel welcomed Bowls Kapiti Coast Vice President, Warren Harding and Manager of BNZ, Lesley Forward.
Hazel spoke of the many achievements of club members and teams throughout the season with special mention of Diana McGill who once again had won the Junior Women’s Champion of Champion Singles. Others who did well in the Champion of Champion events were Shoot Ballinger’s Fours team which reached the semi-final, Audrey Sciascia, Bronwyn McMahon and Margaret MacKay who were the runner’s up in C of C Triples, and Audrey and Bronwyn in the semi-finalist of the C of C Pairs.
She also congratulated Pat Wikstrom who had won the NZ Blind 4 Singles.
Lesley Forward then presented the club’s trophies to the winners of our competitions. (view results on the club’s website www.levin.bowls.org.nz/Home.html)
Warren Harding then called forward club members who had taken part in representing the Centre, and presented Centre certificates to each of them.
After the formal part of the afternoon had been completed, it was time for all to enjoy their time with each other, a time to reminisce about a most successful season.
And on Sunday, the Winter season begins. Having two greens allows us to bowl throughout the year. Enjoy yourself.
