Both men and ladies teams played at Central Levin yesterday in fine conditions (a pleasant change) but the results unfortunately were not so good.
Our women playing on green 2 lost all their games while the men’s teams had a win each.
In the morning games, my team played as a team and proved themselves by winning 23-13 against the Central team skipped by Peter Petherick. On the next rink, Neville Turnbull’s four went down 21-16 to the other Central team, skipped by Phil Harris.
The afternoon’s reverse games had the results reversed as well with Neville having a good win 22-10. My team was simply out-bowled by Phil Harris’s four in our 2nd game with all his players drawing well and able to remove any shot that we occasionally had, with accuracy and ease. 27-5 was the final score and was a true indication of their strong performance. Embarrassing for us but one could only admire their game on this occasion.
