This round of Rotary was played at Central and Shannon. Fred Adams, playing at Shannon with Neville Winiata and new club member, Stafford Ball, won both games but our other team skipped by Joe Wnek, gained 1 win. At Central, Bob Kitto’s team didn’t fare too well, recording two losses and my team managed to win only our first game. …

The Men’s Fours Championship was held today and for a time, it nearly looked as thought it wouldn’t be played. It had rained most of the night but cleared enough for Tony to cut and roll the green early this morning. At the appointed time, just before the 9.00am start, the two teams to play the the semi final started …

After winning their semi-final game, Ann Malone, partnered by Danny Madden from Central Levin, faced another combined team, Maureen Linford and Neville Quirk from Waikanae and Paraparaumu Beach. A close game, but the win went to the Linford-Quirke combination 13-8. Our congratulations to all but especially our club member, Ann.

Five teams from our club plus Ann Malone in a composited team, entered this competition and after Monday’s play, Susan and I and Ann Malone with Danny Madden managed to qualify.
