Jimmy Wishart, an active member of the club for many years, still joins us on the occasion of the Haggis Gala . Another year gone by and it was again Haggis Day at our club, a men’s Gala to celebrate the occasion. A few less teams than normal but still a good day in the sun on Green2, although many …
Mixed Singles – A Wonderful Day
The competition for this event started early this month but waited until today to get it completed. Some wonderful games were played throughout the day, watched by interested members and the final wasn’t completed until 5.55pm The cotula green was in great condition and the players appreciated the work that had been done to bring it up to such a …
A Windy Gala
It took some believing that yesterday we were playing in a ‘summer’ gala. It had rained overnight and there was still some water on the cotula green but the surface on the artificial green was clear and ready to use. It will be interesting …

Dianne Short’s team played Lodzia Wnek’s Four in the semifinal with the latter team winning 18-11. Margaret Griffin’s team …
Women’s Singles Completed
It started in early December 2013 and was finally completed this Monday after waiting to find a day that was free and the weather, good. Eight players had qualified and by this afternoon, Joan Hayward met Diana McGill to play the final; last year’s winner, Liz Galloway, umpired the match. There was quite a gusting wind but the two players handled …
Sunday and it’s Raining
Not what was hoped for today. Post-section play for the Mixed Singles was to follow on from yesterday’s play but it has been raining most of the morning today and things are not looking promising. In theory, play can take place on the artificial green in the afternoon (no water on the surface) but the cotula green is well flooded …
